March- 2003

Embu Water and Sanitation Company Ltd. was incorporated as a Company by Embu Municipal Council in March 2003 in order to be Water Act 2002 compliant. However, despite the date of incorporation, the Company became operational in June 2005.

The company has managed to expand it consumer base from 3500 in May 2005 to 8200 consumers in the year 2010. This has been made possible due to the increased water supply capacity within the same duration fron 3,500 cu m per day to 12,000 cu m per day.
